A Style All Her Own

Olivia had a couple of little braids in and she wanted to keep them in for the next day, so she slept with her hat on to keep them from falling out.

Yes, I did let her go to school looking like this.

It's the Truth

When we were together with my family at Christmas, my mom said something about Grandpa being an old man. Micah said something to her about having gray hair and her being old. She said, "That's what people think, isn't it?" Micah said, "That's what people think and it's the truth."

The kids have been talking lately about when they're all in school and riding the bus together. They were talking about it at supper last week and Micah was looking at his reflection in the window and said, "I'm going to look like this, but I'll have Isaiah's shirts." He's pretty familiar with the hand-me-down process.

Speeding is Fun

On the way to story time, I passed a car. As I was speeding up and starting to go around the car, Olivia said, "Whoa, mom! What are you doing? Why are you going so fast?" I told her, I was just speeding up to get around the other car. She said, "It's too fast,(pause)but fun though.

Later, that same day, Micah was saying something about the "speed lemon". After I told him it was "speed limit", he said, "Well, I call it the speed lemon."

Vocabulary Lessons From Shaggy

Micah and Olivia were pretending to be camping in the living room(by the register, which is the campfire). Every once in awhile, Micah would grab his sword to fight off the bad guys coming after them. As he was joining Olivia back at the fire, he said, "I hope we don't get any more company." Olivia smiled and said, "Micah, don't you know what company is? You know when you have friends over to play or people over for supper." To which Micah replied, "Well, Shaggy said to Scooby, "It looks like we have some more company", when the pirates were coming after them." Who knew, Scooby Doo is educational!

Big Mouth

This is a picture of Isaiah BEFORE he lost his tooth. At the beginning of January, Isaiah started to get a space between his lose tooth and the one next to it. The space got bigger almost daily. His mouth was making room for the new adult sized tooth. Our bodies truly are amazing! The space got bigger than it is in this picture. When his tooth finally fell out, it looked like he was missing two.
