Christmas in Rochester

This Christmas ended up being kind of strange. Due to the bad weather threat, we left for Rochester a day early. My mom and dad weren't able to head out sooner then they had planned and they ended up snowed in(literally) for a couple of days. On Christmas morning we skyped them, so they still join in on some of the festivities with us. I asked if they wanted me to open their presents for them...They finally did make it, as did my brother and his family.

Isaiah enjoyed playing Life, even though it was a little beyond him. The game was sitting out on the table in the dining room and Micah was in there playing around with it. I heard him singing, "Go Tell it on the Mountain"(they had sung at in the Church program). I peaked in at him. While he was singing, "over the hills and everywhere", he was driving one of the cars up a little hill. When he got to, "that Jesus Christ is born", he added a baby boy to his car.

Church Christmas Program

Isaiah and Olivia were both angels in the Church Christmas program. Micah was all excited to be Jesus(a little older... when the wise men came). At the last moment he wouldn't go up and his friend Tate filled the spot. During practice, one of the kids said, "I'm a shepherd. Who's in charge of me?" Then Micah said, "I'm Jesus. Who's in charge of me?" After that, whenever he saw the girl who was playing Mary, he would say, "She's in charge of me when I'm Jesus."

Gingerbread Houses

I helped volunteer in Isaiah's classroom the day they made gingerbread houses. It was a lot of fun to see how kids decorated their houses. I don't know if you can tell very well from this picture, but these two girls covered every tiny spot with candy and sprinkles. When they were finished the one plate was even full to the edge with sprinkles. The houses were made of two milk cartons taped together. They stayed together really well(each kid had their own container of frosting). We didn't bring it home until after the Christmas program,a week later. The kids ate every last piece of candy, stale or not.

Isaiah's finished masterpiece! He did a great job.
